Commonwealth Games NSW Supports Young Athletes
Mr Peter Tate, CEO of the Commonwealth Games Australia NSW Division advised all sports participating in the 2018 Commonwealth Games that his association was to provide some practical support for up and coming athletes in each sport participating in the Games next year.
As Table Tennis is represented in the able bodied and Athletes with a Disability section of the Games we were invited to nominate athletes to each receive a grant from the Association of $1000 to assist with the costs of their participation in our sport.
The two athletes finally rewarded were:
1. Bob Liang in the able bodied section. Bob has represented our State at the junior level since commencing to play competition in our game. His dedication to all aspects of his game have seen him develop into a highly ranked player nationally.
2. Sasha Dansereau has represented NSW for a number of years in the Australian AWD Championships and has shown a major improvement in his game over the last couple of years.
Mr Tate presented both these athletes with a cheque last week at a ceremony at Sports House.
Table Tennis NSW congratulates both these athletes on their success so far and looks forward to even further improvement in the future.
