'It is with sadness that I inform you of the recent passing of Karl Preuss, a man who loved his family and his table tennis.
Karl was born in Germany on 20th October 1928. His involvement in table tennis dates well before my records begin, but records show that in 2001 he represented NSW in the 0/70 Men’s Team where they won the silver medal. He travelled widely for the love of his sport, attending all World Veteran Championships including the 2018 Championships in Las Vegas.
Every Monday morning until recently, he drove to Wentworthville to run the Wenty Leagues Monday table tennis club and remained the captain of Karl’s Kuties in the NSW Veterans competition until his passing. He will be much missed by his family and his many table tennis mates.
Karl passed away quietly in hospital with family and friends with him.
His funeral will be held on Monday 10th September at 11am at the North Chapel Pinegrove Memorial Park then on to Kingswood cemetery where he will be buried with his late wife Lisa. May he rest in peace.'
